-
What type of backing does De Leo apply to its fabrics? Many of our upholstery fabrics are treated with a latex or acrylic backing. This is a light coating applied to the back of the fabric to stabilize it, prevent fraying, and improve performance during upholstery work which basic support without making the fabric too stiff or heavy. This is not standard for all fabrics in our line, so please consult with customer service if there are any questions about specific patterns. If needed, De Leo can apply backing at the mill level if not offered as standard or ship to the US-based finisher of your choice.
-
Can other backings or finishings be added if needed?Yes. In cases where additional reinforcement is needed (such as knit or acrylic backings), it is often possible to apply an additional finish. Please contact us with specific requirements so we can assess compatibility.
-
How can I clean fabric I bought from De Leo Textiles?De Leo fabrics all come with clear, industry-standard cleaning codes to help you maintain the quality and appearance of your purchase. These cleaning codes are universally recognized in the furniture industry, providing specific guidelines tailored to the type of fabric you have. If there are any questions about which cleaning code applies to which pattern, consult with customer service. For a more detailed explanation on cleaning codes used in the home furnishings industry, see here: https://www.deleotextiles.com/cleaning-codes

I received a roll of fabric with a defect/color issue/miscellaneous quality problem. How can I return it?If you notice any quality issue—such as a weave flaw, discoloration, backing problem, or damage upon arrival—please contact us immediately before cutting or processing the fabric. While we do hold our mills to a high standard and do all we can to ensure goods are woven at the best possible quality, these issues do happen. Any concerns that fall under this umbrella should be sent to qualitycontrol@deleotextiles.com. We ask that you email us with the roll number, a clear description of the issue, and supporting photos if possible. Prompt reporting ensures we can investigate and assist as quickly as possible.
-
Do any De Leo fabrics contain PFAS?At De Leo Textiles, we prioritize the safety and sustainability of our products. PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are chemicals that have raised environmental and health concerns due to their persistence in the environment and potential health risks. We are proud to say that none of our fabrics contain PFAS. Our commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and environmentally-friendly textiles ensures that our customers can trust the integrity and safety of our products. If you have any further questions or require more detailed information about our products, please feel free to get in touch with our customer service team at deleo@deleotextiles.com
-
Are De Leo fabrics treated with stain-resistant finishes? No. De Leo Textiles does not apply stain-resistant finishes—such as C6 or C0—as a standard. Finishes such as stain repellents, flame retardants, or latex/acrylic backings are available by request and must be specified at the time of order. We can also send fabrics to the US-based finisher of your choice if there is a specific process that needs to be achieved.
-
Are De Leo fabrics treated with flame retardant chemicals? No. De Leo fabrics are not treated with flame retardant chemicals. However, our products are engineered and tested to pass conventional flame tests, including UFAC, Cal TB 117, and NFPA 260. We take safety and compliance seriously while maintaining our commitment to environmentally responsible practices. We can provide flame retardant finishes upon request. Please ensure this is clearly indicated on your PO so that proper finishing can be coordinated prior to shipment.
-
Does De Leo Textiles source any products from China? No. De Leo Textiles does not source any of our fabrics from China. Our primary mills are located in Turkey, with some products being manufactured in Belgium and India, which means our goods are not subject to the steep tariffs currently affecting Chinese imports. As a result, our tariff exposure—and therefore your cost—is significantly lower than many of our competitors.
-
How is De Leo Textiles addressing the additional tariff rates currently in effect from the Trump Administration? In response to the recent tariff policies announced by the Trump Administration—particularly the flat tariffs being applied to goods imported into the U.S.—De Leo Textiles is closely monitoring all updates and working proactively with our supply chain partners to minimize the impact on our customers. Beginning May 1, 2025, an 8% surcharge will be applied to incoming shipments in line with new federal trade regulations. We are committed to absorbing as much of this cost as possible to minimize the burden passed along to our customers. You will see a surcharge reflected on the final invoice for affected shipments. Unlike many of our competitors, De Leo Textiles does not source any of our fabrics from China—which is currently subject to significantly higher tariff rates. Because our production is based in countries such as Turkey, Belgium, and India, the impact of these tariffs on our goods is significantly lower than what you might see from other suppliers.
-
How will I know if the surcharge applies to my order?Any order that is shipping into the US on or after May 1, 2025 will be subject to the surcharge. This will be clearly indicated on your order confirmation and final invoice. If you have specific concerns or delivery timelines to meet, we recommend reaching out to deleo@deleotextiles.com or your account representative.
-
What is the standard lead time for fabric production? Our standard lead time is 4–6 weeks from the time an order is placed. This may vary slightly depending on mill capacity, type of product, the need for special finishing, and the time of year (e.g., around holidays). Standard transit time from our partners overseas is approximately 4-6 weeks. If needed, we can always air goods directly from our mills at an additional freight cost. Please consult with customer service if there are any questions about expediting shipments.
-
Can De Leo Textiles ship fabric anywhere in the world?Yes, De Leo Textiles can ship fabric anywhere in the world. As a global fabric wholesaler, we have extensive experience in managing international orders and logistics. We cannot provide shipping quotes to orders shipping internationally and would ask that you provide a courier account if working outside of the US.
